Coosa river catfishing 6-9
#1
Got out on the water with Jesus Naranjo which had never caught a catfish. He told me his expectations wasnt high he just wanted to catch one. We got out a little later than wanted to around 9pm anchored out. He wanted to see what limb hooking was so we rigged up 4 lines first. Before i could get out my 4th rod one slammed. He was about to have a heart attack with a 15lber on so i knew he might have one before the night was over. landed it, took pics got out the last rod. Looked back and one rod was barely pulling down, reeled up couple cranks and it pulled down. I grabbed it and was hung up. Apparently this whole time the cat had the bait(atleast 5 minutes), swimmed up river and got me hung. I finally got it freed up and the cat was parallel with me after i reeled up all the slack line gave him the rod. The bait was along ways below the boat at start. Landed the fish which was 10 pounds. Fishing slowed for about an hour so we moved. Had all the rods out about 15 minutes and one smacked the biggest blue gill i had in the cooler so i knew it was gonna be a good one. set the hook and line started peeling, handed the rod to jesus and he was about to crap on his self. Its fun watching a newbie with a big cat. Got it landed 25+lb blue. Then something happened ive never seen, Got a little feller in the boat about a pound that got wrapped up in the line. Still had 20 feet of line to my hook in the water. no clue how it happened but the line was wrapped around him 3-4 times. Then it started pouring rain and he was wore out so we check the limb lines and left before 2AM. Got one[Image: attachment.php?attachmentid=183576&a...mp;thumb=1][Image: attachment.php?attachmentid=183577&a...mp;thumb=1][Image: attachment.php?attachmentid=183578&a...mp;thumb=1][Image: attachment.php?attachmentid=183579&a...mp;thumb=1][Image: attachment.php?attachmentid=183580&a...mp;thumb=1] 5 lber on a limb line. The river was slap full of trees floating which usually is a problem but was aweful that night so be careful out there at night specially after rains.

Thanks, I always throw the ones over 10lbs back. They are the future of reproduction. But out of the coosa I throw them all back. Nasty river.
