Fish on! Steel Point to get catchy tenant

BRIDGEPORT -- After years of casting, the city has landed a big fish for the Steel Point waterfront redevelopment.
Mayor [url "http://www.ctpost.com/?controllerName=search&action=search&channel=local&search=1&inlineLink=1&query=%22Bill+Finch%22"]Bill Finch[/url] and Gov. [url "http://www.ctpost.com/?controllerName=search&action=search&channel=local&search=1&inlineLink=1&query=%22Dannel+P.+Malloy%22"]Dannel P. Malloy[/url]'s office confirmed to Hearst Connecticut Newspapers Thursday that Bass Pro Shops, a destination for fisherman, boaters, outdoor enthusiasts and tourists across the nation and in Canada, will be Steel Point's first tenant.
The governor and the mayor will make a formal announcement at the property at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Hearst newspapers late last month reported Finch, Miami-based developer [url "http://www.ctpost.com/?controllerName=search&action=search&channel=local&search=1&inlineLink=1&query=%22Robert+Christoph%22"]Robert Christoph[/url] and Malloy's administration have been wooing a large outdoor recreation retailer to the long-dormant Steel Point.

Glad to see them doing something with that empty land. I'll check it out when it's open. See if it's worth a return trip.
