Panama Fishing Report- Yellowfin Tuna & more...

Panama Fishing Report
June 5th 2012
by Come Fish Panama Lodge

Here in Panama we have Dry Season and Rainy Season, which we are starting to come into the beginning of Rainy or Wet Season which I’ve always felt is the best season to Fish for Yellowfin Tuna off the Pacific Coast of Panama.

Yellowfin Tuna have been off the charts here in Chiriqui which makes fishing for these species a whole lot of fun weather your Live baiting, Throwing Poppers, or Jigging them up.

This weeks Angler’s Ted, Dell, Bob and Arsenio hailing from Canada and Texas were all game and all in for some Yellowfin so off we went to chase down the YFT on this day. After quickly catching our bait “Blue Runners” we found a good pod of Dolphin jumping and the Tuna were thrashing water all over the place so we quickly decided to throw out some Live bait for them and yes, did not take long. After a few rounds of hitting the Yellowfin hard and dropping enough Tuna in the box to share, these boys were ready for some Bottom Feeders.

I decided to hit the Westside honey hole and that’s where these good old boys started to slam the Cubera Snappers, Mullet Snappers, Bluefin Trevally and a host of other feeders which put these Angler’s over the edge on this day.

Even though they heard so much about the Offshore Fishing here in Panama they could not believe the action they encountered and the abundance of species that Panama has to provided and produce on a single day…

After a awesome day of Offshore Sports Fishing with this 4-some, we headed back to the Lodge and enjoyed Sashimi, Tuna Rolls, Bluefin Empanadas and a few cocktails with all sorts of story telling of this day.. Not to repeat the same wording but Day 2 was all the same…..

Once again Come Fish Panama would like to thank these wonderful Anglers for choosing to fish with us and we will look forward to seen these guys next year. Below are a few shots of their trip and to catch up with all the action these guys provided, visit us on http://www.facebook.com/comefishpanama or on our Fishing Photo Link on the website http://www.ComeFishPanama.com….
