We came, we saw, we caught

I always enjoy my vacations in upstate NY. It is where I was born and probably where I will die.

We fished Lake George and did well on the SMB, they were deep but took a craw pattern bounced across the bottom in 20'. No lakers and to my surprise no pike.

We fished the upper Hudson ( Indian Lake to North River)and caught some nice trout, the mid Hudson (Warrensburg to Hadley) and caught a ton of really huge river chubs, they fought long and strong.

We fished the Mohawk by lock 9 and hammered the smallies on cranks and jig/minnow combos.

We fished some small brooks and caught many Brookies, but none were big, all were tasty.

Sounds like you had a nice vacation back home. Still no takers on my hope of fishing back there.

Very Cool post, My dad is from Rome and we are headed out there early April to fish Lake George and the Mohawk River. I have never been there and I am trying to gather as much info as possible Anybody that can help would be great for an Italian Kid taking his dad home to fish!
