This morning we had two young anglers, Tyler, 10, and hisbrother, Brady, 7, along with their mother, Jody, father, Brian, andGrandfather and Aunt all from Pennsylvania. They were down here fishing Fort Lauderdale aboard the Happy Day Todayalong with the Topshotfishing team. Asthe two young anglers hopped on board the boat, the first question was, “Whatkind of fish are we going to catch?”, and I told them that yesterday we caughtTunas, Bonitos, Mahi Mahi and Kingfish so today we will be looking for the samefish.

Twenty minutes later lines were in the water at the sea buoyin Fort Lauderdale FL sitting in 120 ft. of water, 1.8 milesfrom shore at the edge of our drop off. Iheaded towards a wreck that sits north of Fort Lauderdale FL. With two plainers down, one with a 3 ½ bluereflector drone spoon and the other with a pink sea witch in front of a doublehook Bonito strip. For surface baits, wehad four Bonito strips and one jap feather. The two young anglers positioned themselves intwo of the five fighting chairs in the cockpit of the Happy Day Today, and wereready to catch their fish. Taylor was our firstangler, and he brought in a Bonito. Brady was next and he caught another Bonito. The boys took turn going back and forthcatching Bonitos and Kingfish with their parents and family members cheeringthem on. As Tyler sat waiting for the next fish, theplainer rod bent over. Line exited thereel at a fast pace – we knew this would be a nice size fish for our 10 yearold angler. Fifteen minutes later, allby himself, he brought the fish close to the boat – a 48” Barracuda that put alarge Smile on Tyler’sface.
