U.S. Power Squadron Brings Dragon Boat Races to St. Petersburg, FL
#1
St Petersburg, FL - Paddles Up St Pete offers local residents and visitors, of all ages, a fun venue along the scenic location of Poynter Park and in the protected waters of Bayboro Harbor. The festival provides a wonderful occasion to highlight paddle craft activities that can take place in St Petersburg's fabulous waterfront parks as well as promote marine science, safety, preservation and education.

This innovative, multi-faceted event will have all-day dragon boat racing which is one of the fastest-growing water sports in the United States. It will also showcase other paddle sports such as canoes, kayaks and stand up paddleboards. Numerous charities, organizations, corporations, local businesses, communities and their residents are positively impacted as Paddles Up St Pete presents a unique and vibrant vehicle for fundraising, awareness and economic development.

This event is hosted by the United States Power Squadron, a non-profit organization dedicated to marine education, safety and making boating fun. St Petersburg has one of the largest concentrations of marine science organizations anywhere in the world and, at the festival's Educational Village, the public will be able to see firsthand the great work these groups do to ensure the continuing health and safety of the waters of Tampa Bay. The City of St Petersburg, the St Petersburg Downtown Partnership and the St Petersburg Parks & Recreation organizations are additional sponsors for the festival.
