Eleven Mile and Spinney Mountain State Parks Welcome Visitors and Anglers
#1
LAKE GEORGE, Colo. - The skies are blue, campsites are available and the fishing is great, especially for trout, said Eleven Mile and Spinney Mountain State Parks Manager Kevin Tobey. During the Waldo Canyon and Springer fires, highway closures and smoke discouraged visitors, but conditions have changed, said Tobey.

"We want visitors to know that the parks are open and were not directly impacted by the recent fires. Numerous campsites are available and the fish are plentiful," said Tobey. "We have a full roster of weekend programs and activities for both youngsters and adults."

Eleven Mile State Park is located in South Park, an expansive high-altitude grassland region of central Colorado, located about 50 miles to the west of Colorado Springs. The surrounding mountains, including Pikes Peak, the Tarryall Range and the snowy peaks of the Continental Divide, complement Eleven Mile's own scenic reservoir, short grasses and rocky outcroppings. This remarkable setting is home to tremendous recreational opportunities including camping, biking, boating, fishing, hiking and many other exciting outdoor activities.
