Salmon Tag Question
#1
Hi Fellow Idaho BTF gang. I still have on my bucket list to catch a salmon in the great state of Idaho. My question is do I need any kind of special lic. I am going to go to Island Park soon and I have heard the salmon are moving up toward Island Park. .( Hear Say). Anyway could somebody fill me in. On a good fly to use, or if I need a special tag or lic. Or if floating line would be better. Or sinking. This will be a first for me. so I am really at the mercy of you guys that do it all the time.[laugh]
Thanks Boatfisher

hi, I fish for them in michigan, and yes we do need an upgraded license for trout and salmon, as for Idaho I would suggest you check the state for license issues.

from this link you can access the state you have an intrest in.

to save you time, here is the page you will ultimatly have to look at.

most of us fish near the bottom of the river, this how ever dose not mean they will not rise to the top of the water or mid waters to hit something that has agrivated them.

remember salmon are not usualy eating at this time, they are hitting things they think pose a threat to their spawning venture.
