In an apparent responce to my previous posting on this BB re: Calif. Water Pollution, changes have been made at the Chiquita Canyon Landfill.<br><br>You'll recall my warning about the Seabirds dining on crap and then soaring over to sit and crap in Lake Castaic. I suppose they were also washing the germs off their feet!<br><br>Well the bureaucrats got the message and NOW (I sneeked into it today and took photos...How do I put photos here like that catfish guy did?) They keep the exposed garbage to a minimum and shoot off rockets that send one roman candle like deal high into the air followed by a lous squak like if you did something really awfull to a Gull, and directly thereafter a loud bang.<br><br>The swarms of circling diving birds were actually detered, a little, while, maybe for a moment or two before they were right back at it.<br><br>The do have to work a little harder now. I saw huge numbers of Gulls sitting in empty plots nearby. Wainting or resting.<br><br>Things have improved. It least they are aware of it now, or can't pretend they are ignorant, at the very least.<br><br>The interaction between us and the wild creatures, especially the higher ones that are opportunistic like the seabirds and SEA LIONS are.<br><br>It's really wrong to provide food for wildlife. Feeding the birds on party boats should be stopped too. Wild animals become dependant and lose their natural fear of man. In the end it is we who suffer.<br><br>Campers who feed squirels and chipmunks doom them to disease and death. They over breed due to the increase of food. Rocky Mountain Fever spreads from the Fleas that also over breed. "How Cute! Give him a peanut!" BAD PLAN!<br><br>
