GumboPalooza in Orlando Nov. 10 Will Raise Funds for Kids Fishing
#1
Orlando, Florida Twenty-five teams from Central Florida and beyond are competing to be the gumbo champion at Fishing Florida Radio's Second Annual Central Florida Gumbo Cook-Off, aka Gumbopalooza.

Gumbopalooza will benefit Give Kids The World, Anglers for Conservation and Castaways Against Cancer. It is being held again at Fish on Fire Restaurant at 7937 Daetwyler Drive in Orlando on November 10th. Teams will begin cooking their choice of gumbo at noon and at three o'clock the public is welcome to come, taste and vote for their favorite gumbo. Unlimited tastings is $10.00. Live entertainment from country music singer Wade Williams begins at 2pm, and Discovery Channels Swamp Brothers will captivate the crowd with their animals from 4-5pm. Among the silent auction items are Costa Sunglasses, Guy Harvey Autographed Artist Proof and Book, hotel nights, attraction tickets from Universal Studios, Borski TackleWebs Ink'd Storage Bag, jewelry, fishing tackle from Aqua Dreams, TTI Blakemore, Culprit/Riptide and Mirrorlure, custom Bull Bay Rod, original painting from Dan Echols and numerous fishing charters including one from Copout Outdoor Adventures which will be filmed for an upcoming World Fishing Network show and more. And 100% of the profits go to those three amazing organizations.

In 2011, Michael Bresnahan, The Fish Whisperer and volunteer for GKTW, received numerous fishing rods and reels that were donated and second hand. Michael quickly found himself and others spending more time attempting to fix and repair the reels than taking the boys and girls who were staying at the GKTW Village fishing. Michael contacted the Three Amigos of Fishing Florida Radio with a request to help these children during a rough time in their lives. BooDreaux, Steve Chapman and Captain Mike Ortego quickly contacted their sponsors and friends in the industry to help this incredible organization. Hells Bay Boatworks and the IGFA stepped up and had a handful of new rods for the kids and in their hands within a week. But the boys from Fishing Florida Radio did not think it was enough and that is where Gumbopalooza began. In 2011, Fishing Florida Radio and sponsors raised almost $10,000.00 which all went to help introduce kids to the outdoors with fishing rods, reels and more.

With the help of Universal Studios Production Group, Coastal Angler Magazine Orlando, Hells Bay Boatworks, Mid Florida Painting, Smart Ride Inc., Tito's Handmade Vodka, Signs Now Orlando, Mosquito Creek Outdoors, Ofishulz Apparel, ElusiveTails Apparel and Fish on Fire Restaurant this year's event is sure to raise more money to benefit Give Kids The World, Anglers for Conservation and Castaways Against Cancer.
