New Hampshire Sets Hearing Dec. 11 On Scallops, Shellfish, Wildlife Permit
#1
CONCORD, N.H. -- Miscellaneous rules on scallops, shellfish and a special wildlife transfer permit will be the topic of a public hearing at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, 11 Hazen Drive in Concord, N.H. The proposed rule will affect persons taking scallops or surf clams or persons required to get a special wildlife permit.

Fish and Game is proposing to:

* Amend a rule relative to sea scallops to clarify that the 4-inch dredge ring size is the inside diameter of the ring;

* Amend the rule relative to shellfish reports to eliminate the requirement that a licensee failing to provide the required information within one year from the date it was due shall not be eligible to receive a license for the next succeeding year; and

* Amend the rule relative to the special wildlife permit to reflect the changes made to RSA 208:14 in 2011 that no longer required certain persons to obtain a special permit from the executive director. This permit was previously required for persons under 16, persons over 68, and lifetime license holders, even though they had tagged and registered their deer.
