Have you ever tried hot dogs dipped in cherry cool aid and sprayed with WD 40. Sounds weird but it works too and is on the cheap side. Does not seem to come off the hook like some dough baits if it is going to sit in the water for any length of time. Let me know your thoughts

I've never tried that. Always went for the more foul odor of letting something smelly draw them in.Always willing to learn new baits.

No I haven't tried hot dogs in Cherry KoolAid and sprayed with WD40. The WD I am told has changed formula from fish oil to a petroleum product so I'm not sure if it is the same old product. I might sub sardine oil for the WD nowadays.
