The Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council will meet next week in Hampton, Virginia to address issues related to black sea bass, recreational accountability measures, river herring and shad management, special management zones for Delaware reefs, and deep sea corals. On Tuesday evening, members of the fishing industry and other stakeholders are invited to participate in a public listening session with John Bullard, NOAA Fisheries Regional Administrator.

Key agenda items include:

Review SSC report on 2013 and 2014 acceptable biological catch of black sea bass; Revise 2013 catch limits if appropriate and adopt 2014 catch limits

Approve alternatives to be included in Omnibus Amendment for Recreational Accountability Measures

Develop recommendations in response to Delaware's request for Special Mangement Zone designation for artificial reef sites

Review progress on Amendment 15, which will consider adding river herrings and shads as Council managed species
