I have a Hobie Pro Angler, so it's no problem at all. I just pedal and steer while holding the rod in my free hand. If I choose to drift, I can deploy a drift chute to slow me down. An anchor trolley helps with that, because it allows me to hold any angle I choose against the wind, and even steer a bit.
