Chittenden County RPS, Lake Champlain International to Develop Fisheries History Panels
#1
Winooski, VT - The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) is pleased to announce that it has secured a $5,000 grant from the Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership to create three outdoor interpre-tive panels on the history of Lake Champlain's fisheries. The CCRPC will work in partnership with the Lake Champlain International, to oversee design, fabrication and installation of three, bilingual interpretive panels concerning historic and present day fisheries on Lake Champlain. Written in both English and French, the panels will focus on commercial fishing, recreational fishing and historic Native American fisheries. Panels will be installed at boat launches or marinas or other public and high visibility locations in lakeshore communities that are part of the Lake Champlain Byway.

The Chittenden County RPC provides planning and technical assistance in the areas of Community Develop-ment, Transportation, Agriculture, Natural Resources, Housing, Economic Development, Telecommunications and Emergency Management to the County's 19 municipalities and the public. Its collaboration with municipalities and resource agencies results in the development and implementation of plans that support sustainable development and improve the region's quality of life and environment.
