Do you catch and release spawner size walleye?

I recommend releasing anything that is of spawner size.
The bigger the fish are that spawn the more likely the success rate will be for a good hatch that year. A big walleye can carry 250,000 eggs where a small one maybe 50,000.

here in pennsylvania the season closes from march 1st to may 1st, so our walleyes can spawn in peace.

I would agree, release the spawner size during the spawn!

Our season is closed until after the spawn in some lakes and I think that's great. The rivers and certain lakes are open year round because it is all hatchery stock. The water isn't right for successful spawning.
