Well Steelhead fishing has been great here lately, lots of fish and fishermen in the easy to get to spots on the Mad.
Same good reports off the Vanduzen and Eel as well.

(Weekends is combat type fishing)

We've got a bit of rain comming in this week so it will muddy things a bit untill the next break in the weather.

And if you're wondering, I struck out the only day I got to fish ...saw a bunch caught and released though, sigh... I zig and the fish zag.

The ocean salmon season opened to the south of us, no reports as yet, weather is the big factor in fishing here.

You go out on the wrong day up here and you might not come back.

LOL!! you're kidding right? I wish I had someone to coach me, I've I'm still learning here myself.

I do however refuse to "combat fish" over at the Blue Lake hatchery and watch the snaggers, excuse me! other fishemen ply their trade there.

I like my fish to have the lure IN their mouth when I hook them not somewhere in the face or the general area of the head.

Guess that's why my success rate in hooking and landing them is so low, but I can live with that.

Not everybody that fishes there does it, a lot are true sportsmen and really care about how they fish and the resource and I salute them.

It's those few "others" I've seen that raise the BP.

Just one guys humble opinion.
