#1
GEORGIA OUTDOOR SPORTS ENTHUSIASTS CAN HOOK PERMITS ONLINE

With over 1.2 million hunting, fishing, and boat registrations issued annually, Georgia ranks as one of the country's top states for outdoor sports participation, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division (WRD). For the fifth year in a row, these sports enthusiasts can renew their outdoor licenses and register their boat via the Internet at www.permit.com and now they can keep an extra dollar in their pocket. Permit.com's transaction fee for purchasing Georgia hunting and fishing licenses and boat registrations through their website has been reduced from $4 to $3. In addition, the site is in the process of being re-designed and its new look will be available this month, making it easier to navigate and purchase licenses.
"Last year thousands of citizens took advantage of this convenient service,” said Mike Hughes, WRD Licensing and Boat Registration Program Manager. “The Division wants even more people to go online to purchase licenses and renew boat registrations this year, so we were able, through the competitive bid process, to effect a reduction in Permit.com's transaction fee, saving the consumer one dollar per Internet license or boat registration transaction. Not only is this service great for those who live in Georgia, but it also makes it easy for those who come into our state to hunt and fish. Now, they can simply go to www.permit.com and they're ready to go when they get here."
This convenient service allows citizens to purchase outdoor licenses 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Payment can be made using a credit card. Once the application process is complete, the hunting or fishing license instantly can be printed out.
For more information on purchasing hunting and fishing licenses or renewing boat registrations on the Internet, contact the WRD License Unit at (770) 414-3337.

Bill Vanderford has won numerous awards for his writing and photography, and has been inducted into the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame as a Legendary Guide.
