Winds were out of the east at 5 mph, 2-3 ft. seas, andfluctuating overcast skies. Fifteenminutes after leaving the dock, lines were in the water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, locatedin 120 ft. of water. Due to our extremedrop-off, a ¼ mile further off shore would put you in 500 ft. of water. We started off trolling with two plainersdown, one with a 3 ½ blue reflector drone spoon and the other with a pink andblue sea witch in front of a double hook Bonito strip. For surface baits we had two Ballyhoos andtwo Bonito strips.

Our first fish was a Bonito on one of our surfacebaits. I headed towards one of our 34artificial wrecks – this one located in 145 ft. of water north of Fort Lauderdale. As I circled the wreck, the plainer rod wentdown and Eddie reeled in a 9 lb. Kingfish. From there we kept caught a total of six Kingfish, four Bonitos and fourBarracudas, which we released.
