Vermont Group Brings Updates to Your Inbox
#1
Colchester, VT -- Public health and the economy rely on many factors to be vibrant and strong. Water, although surrounding us, is often overlooked as a leading influence to the health of the economy and well-being of our public health. Lake Champlain International (LCI), its partners, and supporters recognize that we all rely on clean water for our well-being, but a general lack of awareness of these water issues leads to a lack of participation in solutions that protect our waters and fisheries. This is why LCI focuses on public education and engagement. One way LCI engages the community is through the newly-designed and enhanced Lake Champlain email newsletters.

The monthly Lake Champlain newsletters, "The Straight Pipe" and "On the Hook," are loaded with fascinating updates relevant to the health and safety of the waters in which we swim, fish, and boat and, from which we drink. With more than 3,300 subscribers, and increasing every week, the newsletters inform its subscribers with the true issues that threaten our waters, fisheries, public health, and economy. Simultaneously, the newsletters point people in the direction of simple and effective solutions that will result in less pollution, fewer invasive species, and more robust fisheries.

"The Straight Pipe" newsletter covers water and fisheries protection updates and solutions, including scientific articles, media stories, opinion pieces, videos, and more. "On the Hook" includes articles, videos, opinion pieces, and more that are relevant to Lake Champlain, Vermont, and the North Country of New York fishing and boating.

"LCI, its partners, and supporters work so hard on protecting the health of waters because people need clean water to be healthy," said Ross Saxton, LCI Director of Conservation and Education. "The Lake Champlain newsletters help folks stay engaged with our rivers and lakes each month in an easy and fun way."

People who want to receive either or both Lake Champlain email newsletters each month can visit bit.ly/LCIsubscribe to subscribe at no cost.
