Mexico is safe with professional guides
#1
My name is Ron Speed and I have been a freshwater bass outfitter in Mexico for the past 33 years in 7 different states on 13 different lakes. Currently we are operating 3 lakes in the state of Sinaloa: Comedero, Huites, And El Salto. We are in our in our 16th year at Comedero.
I am a new visitor to this Web site and one of the first things I saw was a Mexico warning-- and a proposed boycott of Mexico. There is no doubt that the person who posted this warning has some real horror stories to tell and no matter what I could say that person would never change his mind, so I'll not even try to convince him. However, let me tell you we have hosted over 30,000 Americans in our 33 years in Mexico with NOT ONE SERIOUS PROBLEM.
It's true that Mexico has changed drastically in the past 15 years and the days of camping out on isolated lakes and rivers is a thing of the past. There are some very important do's and don'ts while visiting Mexico, especially if you travel alone and we will be happy to advise any of you who wish to contact us before you go.
My point is that Mexico is a warm and wonderful place to visit, and if you learn what to do and not to do you can and will have a wonderful trip.
It's very true that there are all types of crime and killings that take place in various parts of Mexico. However can't we say the same for this wonderful country of ours?
In closing I will say that if you wish to visit Mexico, prepare your trip with the proper professional people and go and enjoy your trip as thousands of Americans do each year.
Respectfully,
Ron Speed (www.ronspeedadventures.com)

Ron
Amen, AMen, and AMEN! From reading the posts it sounded to me a bit like the gentleman had never actually been in Mexico, but heard the horror stories and formed an opinion. I travel extensively in Mexico, keep my boat there, take my family there, do business there and have a ball. Mexico is no different than any other place on this planet, including our own country. If you are looking for trouble, take foolish chances, behave like a jackass you will probably be in for a rough time. Respect for the people, their culture, their laws will usually result in a positive experience and some great memories of a truly fabulous country.
Thanx for the post.
Bart Waldo
host of http://www.sancarlosmexico.com

Bart Waldo
Vista Communications
http://www.vistatel.com
