making custom foam grips
#1
I am making a grip from foam that will be rings of red and blue. I am using contact cement that Clemen's custom tackle in PA said would work well. Any advice on making smooth joins. If I use the glue to the outer edge, it may be seen and if I don't use enough, there may be a slight gap between the colors. I know that I can sand it after it dries. Any advice....

Tight lines at sea, screamin kids at home!

I've done this on several of my Tuna Sticks and have found the best way to smooth things out after gluing the rings together is to spin the blank on my lathe while holding some sandpaper around it work your way up in grit till you finish with around 100 grit, I think it gives the finished handle a real unique look while they are sitting in the rack. I used green and black hypalon.

2NA
