Bob and Michelle Depierri along with their daughters, Olivia and Danielle, from Louisiana chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some big game deep sea sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL. We had winds out of the east at 5 mph, seas running 1-2 ft, with blue skies, temperatures in the mid 80’s.

After leaving the dock at Bahia Mar in Fort Lauderdale, FL, fifteen minutes later we were at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, which is located in 120 ft. of water, 1.8 miles from shore. A short distance to travel for fishing compared to other areas.

We started off with two plainers down, one with a 3 ½ blue reflector drone spoon and the other with a blue and white sea witch in front of a double hook Bonito strip. For surface baits we had two Ballyhoos and two Bonito strips. I trolled crissed crossed over the reef ranging from 80 ft. out to 160 ft., going over numerous artificial wrecks. Our two anglers were Danielle and Olivia, and they took turns bringing in the fish as Bob and Michelle were in charge of recording the videos and picture taking. We wound up at the end of the trip with 6 Kingfish ranging from 8-12 lbs., 4 Bonitos in the 10 lb. class, one Tuna and released two Barracudas. The young ladies were proud of their catches and angling skills.

With plenty of food for tonight’s dinner, it was time to head back to the dock at Bahia Mar 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316, as the anglers retired to the a/c salon.
