Three days, one night in the cathouse. 82 cats

I spent three days one night fishing the cathouse. Last weekend I left on Saturday and fished Brown Sugar. I did one night and one day there. It was HOT, oh man and the bugs were off the chart.



It was 102 in the day but saturday night was not bad. I gave it my best try but the biggest fish was only 23" I caught a total of 40 cats at Brown Sugar most were 2 to 3 pounds.






So I moved on to Sugar cube. Monday I was on the water early and it was awesome. The first fish was bigger than anything at Brown Sugar.







I would say that the average size was smaller than March and April during the pre spawn activity. In all it was great fishing. I caught two fish that were post spawn males that were in tough shape. I didn't take a picture I guess on the first one but the side of his head had a huge hole in it and the whole head was infected. The second one was this one with a broken Jaw. I am assuming that two fish were fighting and the bigger one latched on and spun breaking the jaw of this fish. The hole is where the bone is missing and shoved back in the fishes mouth. Other than that it was healthy and feeding.



I caught a total of 26 for the day on monday. The biggest fish was 28" and it was a ton of fun. The temp was 105.

I met up with my wife on Monday night and the plan was a float and fishing. She doesn't fish so she was just in it for the float and sun, she got plenty of that.




I got a little bit of a late start due to shuttling the truck and outfitting two boats.







My wife just enjoyed the morning, and kicked back.



As it grew hotter and hotter we drifted down, and I caught a lot of fish.











I was planning to fish one more day but I was fished out, plus that day it was also 105 degrees. I needed a couple days to rest before heading into the sturgeon hole with my son so the fish in the last picture was my last. I had a total of 82 catfish, the largest was 30" 12pounds, 5 bass and 1 carp that was HUGE. I didn't get a picture of it but it was big.

Those things sure do fight well in warmer water. And those battle-scarred veterans can really get nasty looking. Rough sex?
