Sidney, Montana fishing???

There's a chance that I'd be moving to Sidney, Montana for a job by the beginning of 2015 and I'm just curious if anyone here has ever fly fished or ice fished around that area that's worth trying out. Also curious how thick does the ice get up in Montana to know that I might have to buy a gas auger instead of buying a nils hand auger.

Thanks for any reports and if I end up moving I shall miss the great people I've meet in the past few years.
