[font "Arial"][size 3][font "Times New Roman"] A sea of men, women and children in orange hats filled the Capital lawn and House galleries today to urge their support for the legalization of dove hunting in [/font][font "Times New Roman"]Michigan [/font][font "Times New Roman"]. The dove bill, House Bill No. 5029, passed the House with a vote of 64-44 with two abstaining. [/font][/size][/font]

[font "Times New Roman"][size 3] “We are very pleased with this legislation coming out of the House,” said MUCC Executive Director Sam Washington. “We believe we have the momentum to get it through the Senate and put it on the Governor’s desk for her to sign. [font "Times New Roman"][size 3] The dove bill is now heading to the Senate Judiciary Committee, chaired by Senator Alan Cropsey. The bill then awaits a full vote of the Senate, followed by the signature of Governor Granholm. [/size][/font]
