Here is the full story : http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/03/13...67936.html

But if I search for a biggest freshwater fish in Google it comes up with whole another animal: Beluga Sturgeon -
Quote:The largest recorded beluga sturgeon was almost 20 feet long and over 7,000 pounds

Anyone knows what`s the deal with that?

I saw that as well, it is likely a misprint, it isn't the largest freshwater fish but largest freshwater Stingray caught.

This because the Beluga isn't considered a true freshwater fish, because it spawns in the rivers and then returns to the ocean and brackish waters
