Bear Lake Fishing Report 3/18/2015
#1
UDWR Bear Lake Fishing Report:

There is no snow on ground and launching is available at the marina and both east side boat ramps at First Point and Rainbow Cove. Courtesy docks are in the water at all locations. Fishing has remained very good for Cutthroat Trout and a few Lake Trout are also being taken. Anglers targeting the trout are fishing with tube jigs tipped with cisco &/or worms right on the bottom in 45-65’ of water off. Hot spots have been off the rockpile near Ideal Beach, 2nd Point, and along Cisco Beach toward Rainbow Cove. Some anglers are trolling and also doing well using flatfish, Rapalas, and dodger/squid combinations. The Bear Lake Whitefish spawning run has now pretty much ended and we have not seen any whitefish caught in the last week. Remember, all cutthroat trout without a healed fin clip must be released.

Garden City Community Fishery Pond
Pond now has open but the water level is low. Anglers are reporting slow fishing at this time for Rainbow Trout. Try using small jigs tipped with worms or waxworms under a bobber or you can try nymphs in the 14-16 size for the fly anglers. Since this is a community fishing water, the limit is 2 fish.

Laketown Reservoir
This water is also open and anglers are reporting fair fishing for Rainbow Trout. Small jigs tipped with worms or waxworms will always work well, but small spinners can work well at this time of year. Laketown Reservoir is not a community fishery, therefore, the daily limit is four trout.
