Miami/Haulover Inlet March 5th - Windy Conditions
#1
The old saying about March coming in like a lion and out like a lamb is holding very true thus far. Over the weekend it blew 30 with higher gusts. Today it was NE @ 20-25 with gusts over 30. We used the jetties at Government Cut to help break the wind while we searched for tarpon and large jack crevalles. The jacks found us on our first drift and ate a live shrimp and pilchard. Several drifts with no strikes and then some more jacks. They were in the 10 - 20 pound range and gave my anglers all they could handle. On our last drift, we hooked up with an 80# tarpon that put on a spectacular display of jumps. It won the battle when it cut the line on the bottom of the boat. The winds are supposed to taper off a bit over the next few days and this will give us more comfortable conditions to fish in.

Captain Dave Kostyo
Knot Nancy Fishing Charters
305 620-5896 Charter
305 732-2628 Beeper
www.rnfl.com/knotnancy
nkostyo@bellsouth.net
