SM bass just too BIG

Yep we was up to the Gorge on Friday to fish for the bass but we kept catching just too big of bass..

Yes too big for the DWR of Utah and Wy. DWR and a bunch of us bass fisherman..To help out the north end of the lake we was ask to catch as many small smallies as we could, yes they only wanted them under 12" any over was too big..[sly][crazy]

We meet up at 7:00 to 3:00 and was told what they wanted for size of fish under 12" and we headed out..Some times catching small SM bass can get hard but down by the dam they have lots and lots of smaller bass..
There was about 15 to 20 boats with two to three per boat..
We was to fish and catch and keep as many as we could and take them to a catch boat that would take them up lake..

There was two of us and we took our first load of bass to the boat about 8:30 and dropped off 21 bass and headed back out.

We made 3 trips with fish for over 82 bass under and 32 over the 12" that we let go..
I caught two bass under 12" that had big mice in there mouth..And another person caught a Mack with a baby Cotton tail in it..

By 3:00 we had passed the 500 mark and the DWR moved over 1000 bass far more then they had hoped for..

Yes we fished the next day the pictures of the bigger bass are some of the next day..

We could not be leave all the trout that was at the dam area in less then 15' of water, they would not leave us alone..Some over 20" long..

We fished it too and had an absolute blast. It was really hard to leave bigger fish alone. We had one hole where about 6 bass 14" to 17" chased the hooked 14 incher. That was a tough one to leave behind. It is charted for later. We made two drops with about 90 bass. The official count from Ryan Mosley was 992 collected.

Looks like you guys went further north for your bigger bass.

We were also able to troll up a limit of kokanee and rainbows and we jigged up a 7.5 lb and 12.5 lb lake trout (released). That blood was from his cheek and mixed with some from my thumb, he was in great shape and strong kicking away. Smoker will be busy soon.

We fished two days and some of the pictures was from the next day, but we stayed low for the trance plant fish on Friday..
