Fish ID charts
#1
Other than the DOW site and fishing regs, are there any real good fish if charts available? Especially for salt water.

What kind of charts are you looking for?

Here is one of the major California species. It is not in color but gives a good description of close to 200 of the most common bottom, top, and deep species as well as the pelagics.

This link gives you full color charts of almost everything in the Pacific Ocean and some fo the Atlantic species too.

I am looking for something that I can take out on the water with me. Last time it was a little confusing trying to figure out what the fish was. Everyone had a different opinion. I finally was able to identify what I caught after we got back to the dock and someone pulled out a decent chart.

I have some extra charts on my boat. They are from the California DFG. Most of the species are the nearshore, ground fish and a few others. You will definitely be able to identify the Rockfish from these charts.

I will locate them, let you know when I have them and then you could PM your address and I'll send them to you.

Any time bro. I need to go down to the DFG office soon anyways. It is time to renew my commercial license soon. I can get a ton of charts to share with future visitors. [cool]
