2 part question
#1
my first question is does anyone have recommendation for when to catch catfish and where in lake mead would you recommend? Also what types of baits work good out here for catfish

My other question is with the water changes. Does anyone have spots where shads can still easily be found. My spots are now dry

The Virgin basin (Echo Bay ) or the Greg basin (South Cove) are full of catfish.

Try fishing in 35 to 50 foot of water. Carolina rig or a jig head with an anchovy. Fish these rigs closly to the botton and cum them up with corn and sardines Anchovies work good but they love Sardines, probably because the are more bloody.

Don't be surprised if you catch some Stripers too.

If you are fishing the Boulder basin, the latest Shad hatch are about half an inch long. Try cast netting for the bigger 18 to 20 inch Gizzard Shad. Then cut them up in 1 inch by 4 inch strips with the scale as skin on.

Then drift a Carolina rig with a 1 ounce weight thru a school of Stripers.
