DEADLINE FOR WILDLIFE SEASONAL AND EXECUTIVE INTERN POSITIONS NEAR



PIERRE - Game, Fish and Parks officials are reminding people interested in applying for Division of Wildlife Seasonal and Executive Intern Program employment opportunities that the deadline is quickly approaching.

Assistant Wildlife Director Emmett Keyser said seasonal positions that are available for summer 2004 may include fisheries, wildlife and habitat technicians, fisheries, wildlife and habitat aides, interpretive aides, conservation crew leaders, walk-in area crew leaders and interpretive technicians. Listings are specific to locations around the state, and some listings have multiple positions available.

For seasonal employment positions, all applicants must be 18-years of age and be available to work the normal summer season, mid-May through mid-August. In some specific instances, work will begin as early as mid-March with the job running into September or even October. Applications must be postmarked no later than Feb. 13. Applications received after the deadline will still be accepted until all positions are filled. The application deadline for these positions is Feb. 6.

Applicants for Executive Intern Program positions must meet the following requirements in order to qualify for the program: [ol] [li]At the time an application is completed and submitted, the applicant must currently be enrolled at a college, university or vocational-technical school. [li]By the time the internship is to start, applicants must have completed their entire freshman year at their college or university (be classified as a sophomore) or have completed not less than one year of study at their vocational-technical school.
