I usually find myself fishing alone, but I was out with a friend from grad school last Tuesday night and so was able to get pictures of fish. Here is his best--a nearly 20 inch rainbow. We fished the last hour of daylight but caught nothing till dark. (I think if I had taken more time to find creative ways of measuring, I might have been able to get 20 inches even.) We were fishing the waning times of the caddis hatch. With the river still quite high (or so it seems to me), current breaks seemed to be most important. I had another good fish on but had it break off in the current. After nightfall it is basically impossible for me to follow a fish downstream. Besides that we caught a few 14-15 inch browns. Not bad for a short drive and quick hour of fishing.
