My wife and I headed out yesterday afternoon. The goal was to get there by four and fish till dark. We dillydallied and did not get there till five. Headed directly to North Freeway bay. First wiper was on nine minutes later. The area was on fire! Between 5 and 7 PM we boated 12 wipers, only two less than 17 inches. We used number five Flickr shads, pearl white, fire tiger, red tiger, orange tiger. We use planer boards, trolling at 2.6 mph we also tried using lead core but invariably had fish on the planners before getting the lead core in the water. once we had triples though. We had three lines all tangled up and managed to land all three fish, lucky. We finally put away 2 rods so we could keep up with the action. Simply an amazing two hours! Hope this information helps you catch more wipers. We are definitely going to do more dinner time fishing. Sorry for no pics, we were just too busy.
