Bonneville Whitefish Fishing Report (Bear Lake) 12/7/2016
#1
The Bonneville Whitefish run is on and its starting to come to a peak here in the next few days. The run should be good through next week and then taper off quickly. Let's just say, I've been out a "few" times and have done excellent. We are also picking up cutthroat trout and lake trout while fishing for whitefish. You need to be fishing over rocks and you've got to be in about 8-10' of water. Thought I'd share some pics. Some of these fish are really nice sized (over 3lbs and over 20"). My smoker is getting a work out!!!

I was wanting to take my kids up and try it tonight? Are they great to catch in the evening?

Fished south jetty of the Utah Marina caught 6 white fish most 17" one 20". It was hard fishing from shore with wind and rain. A group in a boat near by looked to do a lot better than Us. Small tubes tipped with meal worms. See Darin at Pugstones in garden city he has what need and helped us a lot.
