Saltwater Fish Species, Saltwater Fishing, Tiger Shark

Renowned South Florida shark boat captain Mark “The Shark” Quartiano, a captain who has fished off Miami Beach for more than 30 years, landed a monster Tiger Shark.

On board his 56′ charter boat, Striker-1, Capt. and Crew caught a 1,200 pound, 14-foot long Tiger Shark Tuesday morning. The shark was caught in about 30-feet of water just off Key Biscayne.

Capt. Mark said it’s the biggest Tiger Shark he has seen in all of his years of fishing off the South Florida coast.

14-Foot Tiger Shark

The tiger shark is second only to the great white shark, coming close to the bull shark in number of recorded attacks on humans and is considered, along with the great white, bull shark, and the oceanic whitetip shark to be one of the sharks most dangerous to humans although this may be due to its aggressive nature and frequency of human contact as it often inhabits populated waters such as Hawaiian beaches.
They are aggressive, large and often visit shallow reefs, harbors and canals.
Charter Legend, Captain “Mark The Shark”® has been credited for capturing more sharks on rod and reel than any human being on the planet!
