Out of curiosity do what are crappie and walleye like in the cold? May be a dumb question but was wondering that
[#0000FF]The crappies and Walleyes in Utah Waters all seem to behave differently in different waters. There are different depths, different structures and different food resources.

But, as a general rule, they do slow down a bit and tend to like smaller and slower presentations. And brighter colored stuff is sometimes more attractive to them in the cold...like chartreuse, hot pink, etc.

For crappies in Pineview you have to fish on the bottom in deeper water...where they go to feed on young perch and baby crappies. In Willard they suspend at about 4-6 feet (or deeper) over water from 8 to 20 feet deep. You fish them with slow vertical presentations...using a bobber or a slip bobber if you need to go deeper. Use small jigs. Some folks do well using small ice jigs with a piece of worm or a wax worm...just like ice fishing without the ice.
