Galveston Bay Fishing Report 5-11-22

Saltwater Fishing |

It has been a typical spring time pattern for our fishing. Actually it has been a little more windier than usual. We have been adjusting to the wind from day to day and having to find fish in calmer waters. Most of the Galveston Fishing Charters have been producing nice numbers of trout and red fish when the wind has been decent. Our fish that we are catching right now are very healthy and that is a very good sign for our future. We have been using live shrimp under a popping cork to produce the best action. A few drum, flounder and sheepshead have been caught on many outings.

As summer approaches the fishing will only get better. The wind should die down a bit and we will start fishing the mid bays reefs dredging live croaker.  Most of my outings have been in the lower Galveston Bay Complex and West Bay. I will start moving around trying some new spots once as the wind lets me. As a Galveston Bay fishing guide, you get used to the high wind in the spring and fall months. You just have to adjust to the weather conditions and use your knowledge to have success.

I will try to post another report in a couple of weeks, so check back soon. Hopefully it will be a little bettr report with some nice pics. Until next time, I will see you on the water.
